If you are going to upload your own SRT file, Facebook want your SRT file name to end on '.en_US.srt'.
Upload the SRT file to your Facebook video (we highly recommend you use a tool like Otter.ai to generate srt captions - very inexpensive and very accurate) Open the video on your Facebook page, group, or personal profile, click the (.) and chose Edit Video. Uploading your own captions to Facebook (Pages, Groups, Personal Profiles) Once finished click the Review button to edit the captions and make any necessary corrections before saving your post. (If not, you can activate it or start the process to generate captions) Select the Captions Section and if you have the autogenerate captions turned on it the captions should be already done.
